Earl James & Associates (EJA) is the Northern Territory's premier provider of high-quality surveying and planning services. Our unique blend of over half a century of hands-on local experience and the latest cutting-edge technologies ensures our clients receive the ultimate in modern surveying and planning. Since our humble beginnings in 1952, we have grown to become the Top End's largest survey office, currently employing over 25 Territorians, many of whom have been with us for up to 20 years.

Our history is rich and proud, starting with Earl James' entry into the Northern Territory's surveying industry in 1952. He became the principal and manager of James, James & Lea Pty in 1968, before establishing Earl James & Associates in 1980 with his business partner, Gary Nairn. Earl retired in 1998, while Gary entered federal politics. Today, EJA is led by Kevin Dodd, Franck Delmas, Keith Schulz, Michael Secrett, and their highly trained and dedicated workforce.

We are always quick to embrace the latest industry breakthroughs, having been actively involved in many of the Northern Territory's most significant modern development projects. These include the Darwin Liquefied Natural Gas Plant at Wickham Point, the Darwin Waterfront Redevelopment, the Lyons Subdivision, and a range of innovative advances in assisting the community ownership of Aboriginal Housing within Indigenous communities.
