Vertical Build is the creation and passion of Luke Ralston, owner and Managing Director. Luke's love of building and construction began in his childhood, watching his family home being renovated. That smell of freshly sawn timber and creative mess had a big impact. Throughout school he was drawn to, and excelled in, the technical arts, from drawing to carpentry and mechanics. When a building company he was completing work experience with offered him a full-time job, he jumped at the chance. Luke spent a lot of years on the tools with some of the most reputable builders in Sydney. This hands-on experience provided Luke with a unique perspective on the challenges and rewards of renovations of all sizes, from first shovel in the ground to hand-over. He began to think of ways he could use this perspective, and knowledge, to create a new experience for home owners looking to increase the size, set-up and value of their properties. In 2011 Luke saw a gap in the market in Perth - he saw a place for an independent, entrepreneurial builder who has the time to make real human connections.
