OUR HISTORY

Slade Drilling boasts a rich history rooted in a family legacy dedicated to the craft of drilling. It all began in 1959 with the founders, a family of drillers, establishing their operations on the beautiful Central Coast of New South Wales. Since those early days, the Slade family has meticulously drilled thousands upon thousands of kilometres across expansive landscapes, stretching from Victoria to the far north of Queensland. Their work has encompassed a diverse range of clients, including mining companies, exploration ventures, local councils, farmers, and numerous other organisations, each requiring bespoke drilling solutions for a multitude of purposes. Over two generations, their experience and deep understanding of the industry have flourished, passed down through the family and continually evolving into the third generation.

OUR PROJECTS

At the helm of SLADE Pty Ltd Drilling Contractors stands Phillip Slade, the Managing Director, who honed his skills as a maintenance fitter, machinist, and welder within the demanding environment of the coal mines. Since taking over the reins of the company in 1983, Phillip has accumulated a wealth of experience across diverse sectors, including coal, methane drainage, gold mining, mineral sands exploration, and the provision of town water supplies, to name but a few. He is particularly renowned for his expertise in large diameter water drilling. Throughout his tenure, Phillip has consistently delivered exceptional results, earning the trust and satisfaction of prominent clients such as the State Electricity Commission of Victoria (Morwell open cut), Consolidated Rutile Limited, Unimin, Sebelco, Kembla Coal and Coke, Redland Shire Council, and the Gosford/Wyong Council's Joint Water Project.
