Setting the Standard for Surveying in South Australia
The Surveyors Board of South Australia is a premier body representing licensed and registered surveyors in South Australia. With a rich history dating back to 1882, the Division has enjoyed close co-operation with government agencies, professional bodies, and related organizations to promote the benefits of the licensed surveying profession in our State.
The Board
The Board consists of eight members, comprised of the following office bearers: Chairman, Treasurer, two elected Licensed Surveyors, an Academic involved in the teaching of surveying at an institution of tertiary education, an elected representative from the regional committee of the Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute (SSSI), a nominee of that representative, the Surveyor-General (ex-officio), and an eighth member of professional standing, not a member of the institution. The Board tenure is two years, with nominations for half of the Board members called every 12 months following the end of the financial year. The Board meetings are held on the third Thursday of every month at 5:30 pm in the Division Office, located at Level 4, 25 King William Street, Adelaide.

Mutual Recognition
The Australian Government's Automatic Mutual Recognition (AMR) scheme is operational in South Australia for licensed or registered land surveyors. To be eligible for Automatic Deemed Registration (ADR) under AMR as a licensed surveyor in South Australia, the applicant must hold an unconditional registration or licence in their home state or territory.
