Transforming Spaces, Enhancing Lives
At Mehrtens Underpinning & Construction, we are a family-owned and operated licenced Building & Construction Company, specialising in foundation repair and construction services. With over 35 years of experience servicing Queensland and Northern New South Wales, we have successfully repaired and constructed thousands of residential, commercial, and civil projects. Our team of experts, led by Managing Director Rod Beverley, has extensive experience in underpinning and associated areas, ensuring that our clients receive top-notch services.

We offer a comprehensive range of services, including:
- Structural Piers & Re-stumping: Our engineer-certified piers, including concrete pile piers, steel screw piers, and solid concrete piers, cater to various soil types and specifications.
- Jacking & Supports: We use hydraulic jacks to raise foundations in single-level, second-level, and tri-level buildings, as well as hi-rise carparks.
- Pressure Grouting: Our high-pressure and low-pressure grouting machines handle large amounts of cementous grouts for various applications.
- Tie Backs, Soil Anchors: We install tiebacks, soil anchors, and rock anchors to provide stability to retaining walls, landslides, and building foundations.
- Cut Off Walls/Root Barriers: We construct cut-off walls to prevent moisture movement and install root barriers to protect buildings from tree roots.
- Retaining Walls: We design and construct retaining walls, including soil nails and rock anchors, to support existing walls and prevent erosion.
- Concrete Slabs & Forming: Our team constructs new concrete slabs to any specifications, with options for design concrete coatings or exposed finishes.
Subsidence Information
Subsidence occurs when the foundation of a property loses its bearing capacity due to underlying soil issues. We provide expert underpinning services to rectify subsidence issues, constructing reinforced concrete piers under the foundation to prevent further structural damage. Our work is certified by third-party structural engineers, and we provide a homeowner warranty on our work.
Our Equipment
We have a range of specialized equipment to access tight spaces, including mini drillers, excavators, and pressure grouting machines. Our team undergoes regular training for confined space operations, ensuring safety and efficiency in our work.
