Freshwater ecosystems, such as pristine ponds, wetlands, meandering rivers, and shimmering lakes, are among the most biologically diverse habitats on Earth. They teem with an incredible array of plant and animal life, playing a vital role in maintaining ecological balance. Yet, these essential ecosystems face unprecedented threats from human activity. Land clearing for agriculture and development has significantly degraded wetlands and waterways, disrupting natural flows, diminishing biodiversity, and compromising water quality.

Rainforests, the emerald lungs of our planet, are equally under threat. They absorb vast amounts of carbon dioxide, mitigating the effects of climate change. They provide homes for countless species of flora and fauna, many of which are endemic to specific regions. Sadly, the Northern Rivers region, once a haven of lush rainforests, has witnessed a catastrophic loss of these vital ecosystems. The eradication of nearly 99% of the original rainforest cover has left a void that echoes through the region's biodiversity and ecological stability.

We also specialize in rainforest regeneration, planting native species to create a thriving canopy and understory, providing habitat for a myriad of creatures, from tiny invertebrates to iconic tree kangaroos.

Our flagship location, Sleepy Hollow, is a testament to the transformative power of land restoration. This six-acre property, once a cleared farm, has been painstakingly transformed back to a vibrant ecosystem, complete with rainforest regeneration, freshwater swimming ponds, meandering creeks, cascading waterfalls, and wetlands.

Sleepy Hollow also houses a thriving native plant nursery and a fish hatchery, providing a living laboratory for our clients and a source of locally sourced plants and fish for restoration projects. We believe that hands-on learning and direct experience are essential for fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the natural world.
